Message from the President

Greetings to everyone in the athletics family. To all our new members, you are sincerely welcomed to athletics and CGA family. I want to welcome you and hope that this book will serve as a tool to help you enjoy athletics, physically and socially.

Central Gauteng Athletics will indeed continue striving to increase the competitiveness level of our Athletes, Officials, Coaches and Administrators through mass participation and talent identification programs to search for talent in our communities. We are also committed to encourage free and fair Competition when it comes to Team Representation at National Championships.

We believe that the biggest contribution that CGA and Management can make to Clubs, Athletes, Coaches, Officials is through delivering excellent service and give our commitment to the development and growth of our sport.

In the year 2013, CGA has managed to close the gap between the elite and the upcoming athletes through various development projects, however it is not adequate to get the ultimate results. CGA will be knocking on corporate doors to seek support for these development programmes.

I would like to also take this moment to thank the CGA sponsors and partners (Ricoh, Spar, Pick n Pay, ABI, Tsogo Sun, Gauteng Sports and Recreation and National Lottery) for their continued support to grow athletics in our province.

Central Gauteng Athletics will set very high targets once again this year and counting on the support and contribution of clubs, Athletes, Coaches, Officials and parents in delivering excellent service and keeping the name of CGA as a house hold name in athletics.

Let’s make it happen.

Thank you,
James Moloi
