Firstly, we would like to wish all Track and Field athletes and CGA members a prosperous New Year.
Central Gauteng Athletics will be kicking off the 2017 Track and Field season on the 14 January 2017 at Germiston Stadium. The season’s return which has been eagerly awaited by athletes and coaches who are seen yearly delivering exceptional performances. The meeting will be following a full day programme that will allow track and field athletes of all ages to participate. We are looking forward to a great turn out in numbers, seeing that it is the first track and field event of the year.
Athletes will be looking at building up towards their selection for the different Championships to represent the province at the South Africa championships and South Africa at various International championships such as the 2017 World Championships to be held in London later this year.
In order to improve the standard of producing results we will be introducing the pre entry system. We therefore request clubs and coaches to support this initiative by ensuring that athletes pre-enter at least 2 days before the competition. The ultimate plan is to have the results available on the day of the competition.
Herewith please find the attached 2017 Track and Field season calendar, Pre-Entry Form and Full Day programme for the 14 January 2017.
Once again we wish you all the best for the athletics year.
