entral Gauteng Athletics takes a moment to honour and congratulate all CGA athletes and provincial board members that participated at the 94th Comrade Marathon.

Indeed it takes a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and dedication to run a distance of 87km race. The courage of these individuals and patriots have placed the province and the country in high regards of world athletics, comments of CGA President James Moloi just after the ultimate human race.

CGA would like to send a special congratulations to Edward Mothibi and Gerda Steyn for their exceptional performance and ultimately crowned as champions of 2019 Comrades Marathon. We celebrate the dominance of CGA runners in the top 10 and in the category prizes.

The Vice President of CGA and legendary Comrades runner Mr George Lamb sends words of encouragement to all runners who missed the finish line cut off time which was exactly 12 hours with the following words: You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start in order to be great.

Runners had different motives behind running this ultimate human race, as some are for personal achievement, while others to raise funds for their communities, and in honour of representing their own Provinces and Countries.

All Athletes who are interested in running are encouraged to join the Clubs in order to obtain permanent licenses and comply with jurisdiction.
