Central Gauteng Athletics confirms that it’s all systems go for the upcoming Track and Field Provincial Championships scheduled to take place on the 10 and 11 March 2023 at Germiston Stadium.
The championships are expected to produce a lot of fireworks after a very successful 5 league season which had great support and performances. Athletes will be fighting for a spot to the National Championships which will be held later in March 2023 by ensuring that they meet the qualifying standards and the selection criteria. The well communicated selection criteria which requires athletes to compete in 3 of the 5 leagues plus the provincial championships together with the qualifying standards will be used to select a very strong team to represent the province. These will be closed provincial championships meaning that no other athletes from other provinces will be allowed to compete. Only CGA registered athletes with a permanent licenses will be allowed to compete at the championships (no temporary license will be allowed).
Entry fee for athletes is R 30 and R 50 for spectators. Top 3 finishers in each event will receiving a provincial medal.
CGA Track and Field Provincial Championships entries are open and will close on Tuesday, 7th of March 2023. Only pre-entries submitted on this link: https://tinyurl.com/CGA2023TandFChamps will be accepted, no late entries or entries on the day of the championships will be accepted.
