Central Gauteng Athletics successfully hosted the 2nd league of the 2025 Track and Field season this past Saturday, 01 February at Germiston Stadium. Over 1000 athletes participated in the league meeting. We witnessed amazing performances throughout the day.
The men U18 Long jump saw Tshiamo Motsamai claiming the 1st position with a 6.50 jump, with Moetlo Sefoka of UJ coming second jumping 6.07 and in third position also in Brakpan colors was Adriaan Botha with 6.05 jump.
In the middle-distance events, we saw very interesting competition amongst the 1500m athletes which was dominated by the talented Tyran Brooks in the colors of boxer clocking 04:07.27. The second position was secured by Wilem du Plooy of HMK who clocked 04:14.92. In third position was Nkosinathi Dlamini of Warriors of West in the time of 04:18.51.
The Senior Men 800m event was dominated by Jason Vermuelen of Kudus crossing the finish line in the time 1:55.65. In second position was Sipho Ndhlovu of Masai clocking 1:57.82 and in third position representing Mamepe Striders was Lefa Kwanele finishing 1:58.56
CGA Track and Field Chairperson says she is excited to see how much great potential is unfolding in the 2025 Track and Field Season so far. Athletes are encouraged to register on time so that we can ensure that all the logistics are planned for accordingly.

Born in 2010/2011 is U/16 (14 and 15)
Born in 2008/2009 is U/18 (16 and 17)
Born in 2006/2007 is U/20 (18 and 19)
Seniors 20 years and older
The entry fee for athletes is R30 and R50 for spectators for leagues. Temporary licenses will be sold at the venue for R 30. 2024 ASA License number will be valid till the end of February 2025. Athletes to report one hour before their respective event to the outside call room
No entry fee for CGA Affiliated Coaches, coaches will be required to produce an affiliation card at the gate. No coach will be allowed inside the competition area.
