CGA set to host 2021 Half Marathon and 10km Championships

Central Gauteng Athletics will be hosting the Half Marathon and 10km Provincial Championships on 11 April 2021 at Germiston Stadium. The Championships are aimed at giving an opportunity to our elite athletes to compete and also to prepare for the National Championships, with the SA Half Marathon scheduled for the 1 May 2021 and the SA 10km Championships in July 2021. The Provincial Championships will be used to select the respective provincial teams.

The two race distances will run at different times following COVID-19 protocols and regulations to ensure that all athletes and officials are safe.

Starting times are as follows:
21km Women – 06h45
21km Men – 06h30
10km Women – 08h15
10km Men – 08h00

Entries for 21km is R120 and R80 for the 10km. Athletes are reminded to bring their 2020 permanent licenses as there will be no temporary licenses allowed on the day. Entries can be done through the following link CGA Provincial Half Marathon & 10km Championships 2021, or at CGA Offices in Germiston Stadium. Entries will close on Tuesday 6th April 2021 or when the capacity of 500 athletes has been reached.

As part of motivating our elite runners’, Provincial medals and prize money will be awarded to the top 3 finishers (Gold, Silver, and Bronze). Only CGA-registered athletes will qualify for medal and prize money.
