Central Gauteng Athletics Cross Country 2nd league powered by Tsogo Sun Hotels and National Lotteries Commission was hosted in windy conditions with the immense number of athletes coming through to build up their performances this past Saturday, 05 June 2021 at Boksburg Stadium.

After all, participants adhered to the strict COVID-19 safety protocols, the first event commenced with boys and girls under 8 events, which saw the youngsters Matthew Strydom display exciting performance in a 1km distance. NB: CGA Cross Country commission met after the last league at Boksburg and resolved that for CGA to ensure COVID-19 compliance, the responsibility of collecting stickers must be given to clubs. Clubs are requested to appoint a cross country coordinator responsible for collecting club stickers between 10h00 and 11h00 on the day of the event for all the club athletes. Stickers will be prepared per club with the coordinator collecting and signing for all the stickers. This will enable the CGA team to concentrate on ensuring COVID-19 compliance are adhered to at all times. We, therefore, plead for the support of all clubs for the success of CGA’s Cross Country season. The name of the Cross Country club coordinator, together with their contact number must be sent to maureens@centralgautengathletics.co.za.
