The Sub Youth Provincial Championships was hosted following 3 Sub Youth leagues of which athletes were expected to participate in at least 2 plus championships in order to meet the selection criteria.

We had commenced the day with the 10km Race Walk league targeted at Senior and Junior as part of preparing for the Race Walk Championships early next year. One of the fascinating performances of the day has to be Oluchi Abalwe Ndubueze of IHT in the Girls 13 as she secures 3 gold medals with the 1st medal in 200m clocking 25:83, jumping an impressive distance of 5.25 in the Long Jump. To complete her 3 gold medal dominance in style she clocked 12:50 in the 100m event. During the post event interview, she indicated that she was very excited to walk away with three gold medals as she feels that the hard work in the pass leagues is paying off.

Khotso Motsamai of NEDJHB defended his title in the Boys 11 Long Jump finals to secure a gold medal yet again with an amazing jump of 4.88m. Motsamai was followed by a strong challenge from Aldre Wohlfahrt of NORIES who secured a silver medal with a jump of 4.87m and Kade Booysen of Trinity closed the podium taking a bronze medal with a jump of 4.28.
